Serani bad start in rugby as Mnyenzeni fall short in hockey at National school games

Being known for their football prowess in the coastal region and across the country, Serani Secondary School has defied all odds this year by making it to the National Term One School Games through rugby—a feat that has surprised many. Their first match was one to remember.

In the rugby 15s on Tuesday, Serani Secondary made things difficult for defending champions All Saints from the Eastern region, who narrowly won 3-0 in a hard-fought match.

With Serani boasting speed and skillful players, they gave the reigning champions a real challenge in the tough encounter.

“We are still yet to gain our form, and we haven’t given our all yet. In this match, we weren’t prepared for what we experienced,” All Saints captain Bramwel Odida said.

In another match, former champions Upper Hill from Nairobi County stamped their authority with a 28-05 win over Mang’u High from the Central region.

Now all eyes are set on today’s second match, where Upper Hill will face off with All Saints in a clash dubbed “The Battle of the Champions.”
