Kilifi UDA leaders call for free and fair grassroots elections

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leaders in Kilifi County are urging the party to ensure that the upcoming grassroots elections are free, fair, and transparent.

Speaking on the matter, Kilifi County UDA chairmanship hopeful Mohamed Kadar Ibrahim emphasized that a credible electoral process would promote equality and fairness within the party.

“I urge the party leadership to conduct a free, fair, and transparent election. This will uphold integrity and ensure a smooth process,” he stated.

The grassroots elections, set to take place in various counties across the country, are scheduled for April 12.

Mohamed further highlighted that a well-managed election would reinforce the principles of good governance, ultimately accelerating development in the region. He also appealed to Kilifi residents to support his bid for the chairmanship.

“This exercise is crucial in ensuring that the party upholds the best governance practices. I humbly ask for your support and vote,” he added.

Meanwhile, a source who spoke on condition of anonymity called for a peaceful election process. The source expressed concerns over previous postponements, stressing the need for a well-organized and timely election.

“We want a peaceful and credible election. The repeated postponements pose a threat to democracy,” the source noted.
