Artist of The Month
Mzee Ngala, born Joseph Ngala Katana in Mombasa, is the father of Bango music, a coastal blend of taarab, jazz, and local rhythms. From his breakthrough hit “Naitaka Bango” to timeless tracks like Pepeta Bango and Teusi, his music has become a staple at coastal weddings, inspiring the phrase “Harusi si harusi bila Bango.” Today, Mzee Ngala remains a living legend, keeping the spirit of coastal music alive for new generations.
