Bandari FC targets crucial win over Gor Mahia as Siwa takes charge

Bandari FC interim head coach Razak Siwa says the team is in high spirits ahead of Friday’s FKF Premier League clash against Gor Mahia at Mbaraki Stadium.

Siwa, who takes charge of the Dockers for the first time as head coach following technical bench changes this week, said the squad is “fresh” and motivated to secure maximum points at home.

“The camp is good, we are fresh, we have morale, so we are fighting for three points tomorrow, God willing,” said Siwa. He noted that most injured players have returned to training except Ng’ang’a and Beja.

Siwa downplayed pressure ahead of the high-stakes encounter, despite both teams coming from losses in their previous league matches.

“There is no pressure at all. I have managed a big team before with more than 50,000 fans and we won the cup. These things are normal,” he said, urging supporters to remain calm amid recent upheavals. “These are normal things in football. Let us focus on what is coming next.”

Bandari captain Andrew Juma echoed his coach’s confidence, insisting that the players are determined to respond strongly after last weekend’s defeat.

“Right now we must strive hard to win. Every player will push themselves completely. We need three points, there is no other way,” Juma said.

Despite the turbulence of the past week, the skipper said morale in camp remains high.

“We respect Gor, they are a big team, but on the field things are different. We also need three points, and we have a goal to settle tomorrow.”

Juma appealed to fans not to give up on the team.

Bandari FC CEO Tony Kibwana confirmed that technical changes made this week are aimed at improving performance, with the club expected to unveil a new coaching structure soon.

“We are confident these targeted changes will change the team’s direction,” he said.

Kibwana added that the players have stayed focused despite the reshuffle.

“The players are experienced professionals. The spirit is high. The most important thing is tomorrow’s game at 3 PM.”

He urged fans to turn up in large numbers to support the team, promising an improved display and a push for maximum points.

Bandari FC spokesperson Ali ‘the Artist’ said preparations have been completed for what he termed a “big clash” at Mbaraki.

Tickets will cost sh.100 for terraces and sh.500 for VIP, and are available online through a link on the club’s official Facebook page.
