Fayaz FC emerged champions of the 2025 Sisi Ni Dola Cup, defeating Fetuwe FC 1–0 in a thrilling final match held at the Mombasa Sports Club.

The month-long tournament, sponsored by Dola Group, brought together 20 teams from Mombasa, Kilifi, and Kwale counties in a bid to promote youth participation in sports and nurture emerging football talent in the Coastal region.

Fayaz FC walked away with a  sh.500,000 grand prize, while runners-up Fetuwe FC took home sh.250,000. The third and fourth-placed teams earned sh.100,000 and sh.50,000 respectively.

Speaking after the final whistle, Fayaz FC coach Shimai Fuad praised his players’ determination and tactical discipline.

“We started with a 4-3-3 formation but changed in the second half to press forward, and that’s when the winning goal came in the 76th minute,” Fuad said. “It was not an easy game because Fetuwe are an experienced side, but our players gave their best and we’re proud of the result.”

Fuad also thanked the tournament organisers and sponsors for providing a platform for local players.

“The Sisi Ni Dola Cup has been one of the biggest and most competitive tournaments. We thank the sponsors and hope for more opportunities like this to showcase our talent,” he added.

Fayaz FC’s goalkeeper Jafar Sharif, who was named Best Goalkeeper after completing the tournament without conceding a goal, attributed his success to teamwork and faith.

“I thank God for the strength and my coach for the guidance,” he said. “This was a tough competition, but we fought hard and didn’t allow a single goal.”

Other individual awards included Fayaz Bakers’ Hamid Mohamed as Most Valuable Player, Congo Boys’ Fadhil Jira as Top Scorer, and Juve FC’s Abdulwahab Jelle as Best Young Player. Each received sh.20,000, a trophy, and a medal.

During the closing ceremony, Dola Group Sports Manager Hassan Ibrahim commended the teams for their effort and highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to community development through sport.

“Through the Sisi Ni Dola Cup, we have witnessed young Coastal players with discipline, creativity, and potential to reach the Kenya Premier League and even international leagues,” Ibrahim said.

“At Dola Group, we believe that a good business is one that uplifts the community. That’s why we are proud to invest in youth sports to nurture talent, strengthen unity, and bring joy to our people,” he added.

The tournament, which began on October 3, has been hailed as a unifying platform that promotes positive youth engagement and showcases Coastal football talent.

Fayaz FC captain Ali Mzee Riada credited improved fitness and teamwork for their victory.

“We worked hard, especially on our second-half performance and fitness. That made the difference,” he said.

Runners-up Fetuwe FC’s representative Said Bahresa congratulated the champions and expressed appreciation for the tournament’s organisation.

“The final was a tough match, but luck was on their side,” he said. “We accept the results and thank Dola Group for supporting football at the Coast.”
