Rúben Amorim has promised Manchester United fans that the team will improve next season following a disappointing campaign.

Addressing supporters at Old Trafford after the final whistle, the Portuguese manager apologized in an emotional speech, describing the season as a “disaster” for the club.

“I know you are very disappointed with me and with the team. I want to say thank you, we are very grateful for your support over the season. Now we have to make a choice: do we get stuck in the past? Because this season is in the past, it’s over,” Amorim said.

The tactician also reaffirmed his commitment to the club, saying his focus is now on rebuilding the squad to make it competitive again.

“Six months ago, I said the storm was coming. Today, after this disastrous season, I want to tell you, the good days are coming,” added Amorim.

Manchester United finished 16th in the Premier League with 42 points from 38 matches and also lost to Tottenham in the Europa League final.

The club has already confirmed the departures of Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans, and Victor Lindelöf, while Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho is also expected to leave.

Garnacho reportedly clashed with Amorim after the Europa League final and was left out of the squad for Sunday’s 2–0 loss to Aston Villa.
