Mombasa County launches mass ID registration exercise

The Mombasa County Government, in collaboration with the National Government, has launched a Rapid Results Initiative (RRI) for national ID registration, scheduled to run from May 7th to May 22nd, 2025, across all areas of Mombasa County.

In a statement issued by Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir, the registration exercise will kick off in Mvita Constituency from Wednesday, May 7th to Thursday, May 8th. Registration centers will include the Chief’s Offices in Tudor, Railways, Old Town, Ganjoni, Majengo, Tononoka Social Hall, and schools such as Khamis High, Highlevel Estate Social Hall, Sharif Nassir Girls, Coast Girls, Sacred Heart, Mvita Boys, and RG Ngalla CDF Hall.

From Friday, May 9th to Monday, May 12th, the exercise will move to Jomvu Constituency, with registration taking place at Chief’s and Ward Administrator’s Offices in Birikani, Mikindani, Jomvu Kuu, Maganda, and at schools including Kajembe High, Miritini Secondary, Jomvu Girls, and Miritini Complex.

In Changamwe, registration will take place on Tuesday, May 13th and Wednesday, May 14th at Chief’s Offices in Changamwe, Port Reitz, Kwahola, Chaani, and Mwijabu, as well as at Bomu CDF Hall, St. Charles Lwanga, Changamwe Secondary, Bomu Secondary, Chaani Secondary, Port Reitz Integrated, Mwijabu Secondary, and Changamwe Girls.

The exercise will continue in Kisauni Constituency on Thursday, May 15th, and Friday, May 16th at Chief’s Offices in Manooni, Junda, Utange, Shanzu, and Mwakirunge, and at other venues such as St. James Pendeza, Kiembeini Church, Mtopanga Catholic Church, Jesus is Able Church Wangwani, Mamangina Girls, Shimo la Tewa, Marimani Secondary, and Concordia Secondary.

Nyali Constituency residents will register on Monday, May 19th and Tuesday, May 20th at Chief’s Offices in Kongowea, Maweni, Kadzandani, Kismani, and at other locations including Freretown Social Hall, Mnazi Mmoja Village Elder Office (Uwanja wa Mbuzi), Maweni Secondary, Freretown ACC, Kwa Bullo Primary, Mohamed Ali Secondary, and Khadija Primary.

Finally, Likoni Constituency will host the registration on Wednesday, May 21st, and Thursday, May 22nd at Chief’s Offices in Likoni, Mrima, Shika Adabu, Mbuta, and at additional centers including Mtongwe Social Hall, Likoni Social Hall, Mwahima Stadium, Timbwani Secondary, Mishi Mboko Girls, Moi Forces, Bububu Elite, and Starehe Camp.

Residents are advised to carry all necessary documentation, including copies of their birth certificate or other valid identification documents, when visiting registration centers.
