New Lamu County water project to address scarcity in Bargoni and Mswakini

Bargoni and Mswakini residents in Lamu county have every reason to smile after the county government launched a water project there.

The Department of Water and Energy is spearheading the project.

Water and Energy County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Tashrifa Mohamed said the project seeks to address the water scarcity in the area.

“This project is more than just a source of water—it’s a symbol of hope and progress,” said Water and Energy CEC Mohammed.

The CECM said the project also seeks to improve the health of the locals and increase economic opportunities.

The county government of Lamu said it is committed to ensuring that locals have an adequate supply of clean water.

“The ambitious initiative marks a significant milestone in the County Government’s ongoing commitment to improving access to clean and reliable water for all residents,” said Mohammed.
