Kwale County Government has distributed 5,000 coconut seedlings to farmers in the county in a bid to enhance food security.
While distributing the seedlings to farmers, Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani said the initiative was part of the county’s efforts to promote agricultural sustainability, enhance food, and empower its people.
Achani urged all beneficiaries to plant and nurture the trees diligently, saying coconut farming plays a crucial role in Kwale County’s economy.

To further support farmers, Achani also directed the repair of all county-owned tractors to ensure they were fully operational for land preparation.
This comes a few days after Achani promised farmers from all 20 wards that they would benefit from the distribution of 45 tonnes of seeds from the county government.
The governor had cautioned Ward Administrators against delays in distributing the seeds.
