UDA delegates in Kilifi urged to elect responsible leaders

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) delegates in Kilifi County have been urged to elect responsible leaders in the upcoming grassroots party elections.

Kilifi County UDA chairman hopeful, Mohamed Kadar Ibrahim, emphasized that the elections, scheduled to take place at every polling station, will be conducted through a digital platform.

“We are electing leaders from the polling stations, with each station having 20 elected representatives. To participate, you must be registered by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC),” he noted.

However, Kadar cautioned delegates against electing party leaders based on tribal affiliations, urging them to prioritize merit and unity.

“What I urge you to do is to turn out in large numbers and vote,” he said.

As a staunch UDA supporter, Kadar reiterated that the party upholds democratic principles and has well-structured governance from the grassroots to the national level.

“The party has clearly outlined structures, ensuring inclusivity and proper representation,” he stated.

Kadar further highlighted his efforts in popularizing the ruling party across Kilifi County through a series of sensitization forums.

“I have traversed the county, from Kilifi North to Kilifi South and throughout Malindi, to ensure people understand the party’s vision,” he noted.

Commenting on the recent appointment of Fikirini Jacobs as Principal Secretary for Youth and Sports by President William Ruto, Kadar lauded the president’s decision.

“Fikirini’s appointment comes at a crucial time when the youth of this country are being recognized. It is a step toward addressing the concerns of Gen Z,” he remarked.

The UDA grassroots elections in Kilifi County are set for April 12, 2025.
