Empower and support women- Gov’t told

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leaders in Kilifi County now want the government to empower women in the community to uplift their standards of living.

Kilifi County UDA chairman aspirant Dr. Mohamed Kadar Ibrahim said women play a pivotal role in the growth of the family and the nation at large.

“I acknowledge the remarkable role women play in society, from shaping families to driving economic growth and leadership. Women need empowerment, support, and ensuring that they are uplifted,” Kadar noted.

His remarks come less than 48 hours before the world marks International Women’s Day.

“I encourage everyone to celebrate and honor the women in their lives, not just on March 8th but every day,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hassan Wanje, a Kaloleni sub-county UDA Chairman aspirant urged the government to allocate a special kitty to cater to the needs of less privileged women.

He said the kitty will ensure that their needs are adequately addressed.
