Lamu will vote UDA full-suit come 2027, Timamy promises Ruto

Lamu county governor Issa Timamy has assured president William Ruto of the county’s support come 2027 General Elections.

Speaking at the Launch of Kenya – Off Grid Solar Access Project (KOSAP) in Ndau Island, Lamu County, Timamy told the president to ignore his critics saying residents in the county will do a block vote for UDA canididates in all positions.

“Who in this world would have thought of bringing power to Ndau, Kiwayu and Mkokoni?” Timamy asked residents in attendance.

The governor thanked president Ruto for the launch of construction of 486 affordable housing units in Mokowe saying it would create job opportunities for residents.

He said that the time for campaigns will come and they will campaign vigourously for the president cautioning other parties that Lamu residents have already made up their mind to support UDA.

Timamy also thanked the president for the removal of vetting for those seeking national ID’s terming the move as one that brought equity to all Kenyans.

He said for a long time Lamu residents had struggled to get ID’s because of the vetting process.

He, however, asked for the process to be timely so that those applying can get them in a shortly the application.

The County Chief said that issuance of ID’s without vetting will enable many residents get ID’s eventually enabling them to exercise their democratic right to vote.

“The main reason for Lamu having few registered voters is because many youths struggled to get ID’s,” said Timamy.
