Children & Empowerment and Development (CHED), a children’s rights lobby based in Kwale County, has launched a new initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing young talent in the region.
The project, known as the Broad-Based Talent Initiative (BBTI), targets children and young people between the ages of 13 and 24, providing them with opportunities to develop and showcase their skills.
“This program is designed to tap into the talents of young people and help them grow,” a CHED official stated.
Idd Bakuli, a CHED officer, emphasized the importance of the initiative in creating a platform for youth empowerment.
“Through this project, dozens of young individuals will have the opportunity to showcase their talents and gain exposure,” Bakuli explained.
Meanwhile, Kwale County’s Youth and Gender Director, Ken Simiyu, revealed that the government is planning to roll out a series of projects aimed at supporting the youth.
“We anticipate the launch of several youth-focused initiatives to complement existing efforts in the region,” Simiyu noted.
Human rights organizations in the county continue to advocate for the rights of both children and women, ensuring they have access to opportunities for growth and development.
