Mombasa County hires 135 new ECDE teachers

Mombasa County government has hired 135 new Early Childhood Development teachers in amove to build early childhood education in the county.

Speaking during the pass-out ceremony of the new teachers, Mombasa Governor Abdullswamad Sheriff Nassir said early childhood educators were critical in setting the foundation of learning in children.

“This move not only enhances the quality of early education but also offers certainty to parents, knowing their children are in the hands of qualified and dedicated professionals,” said Govenor Nassir.

He said that the new teachers will serve across the 97 county-owned ECD centers, providing young learners with a strong academic and social foundation.

“Investing in early childhood education is investing in the future of Mombasa, and we remain committed to ensuring every child has access to quality learning from the very start,” said the County Chief.
