The Confederation of African Football has postponed the 2024 CHAN tournament to August 2025.
CAF president Patrice Motsepe said this was due to infrastructural hiccups.
The tournament, which was initially slated to start on February 1, will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Kenya was on the verge of missing out on hosting the tournament due to sub-standard stadia.
Currently the ministry of sports is refurbishing local stadia for the African tournament.
However, CHAN did not announce the exact date in August when the event will kick-off.
“The exact date in August 2025 of the commencement of the Total Energies African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda 2024 will be announced by CAF in due course,” CAF president Patrice Motsepe said.
