The Safaricom Chapa Dimba All-Stars Boys Team kicked off their Spanish tour in style, securing a dominant 6-1 victory over hosts SD Huesca U23 in a friendly match at the Huesca Academy Grounds.
Kenya’s rising football talents wasted no time asserting themselves. Brian Aroka opened the scoring early, followed by a clinical finish from Derrick Oketch, giving the All-Stars a 2-0 advantage at halftime.
In the second half, Dennis Okumu stole the show with a brace, while Felix Munguti added another to widen the gap. Relentless pressing from David Wanyama forced an own goal, before SD Huesca’s Nicolas Lopez netted a late consolation in the 89th minute.
Reflecting on the game, Gabriel Infante, coach at Huesca Academy, praised the Kenyan side’s energy but emphasized the need to sharpen their finishing.

“The boys created plenty of opportunities but failed to convert most of them. The score could have been much higher, but that’s part of the learning process. We will continue to work on this area in future sessions,” Infante said.
SD Huesca U23 player Alex Rivas described the experience as unforgettable.
“They run a lot, are very physical and fast, and play with passion and freedom. They pushed me hard and really made me sweat.”
All-Star forward Derrick Oketch acknowledged the need for improvement despite the big win.
“We overpowered our opponents with our pace, but our finishing was a bit lacking. That’s an area we’re determined to sharpen during this camp.”
Meanwhile, from the Chapa Dimba Girls Team, Hellen Mito and Martha Simiyu Nafula were invited to join the SD Huesca Senior Ladies Team for gym and field training sessions, showcasing the growing impact of Kenyan talent in Spain.
On Wednesday, the All-Stars will visit Podoactiva, the Zaragoza Centre, and the Aragonese Federation before playing their next round of friendly matches. The boys’ team will face Valdefierro CF, while the girls’ team takes on Zaragoza CFF.
