Mombasa County Assembly Speaker Aharub Khatri on Friday hosted Vice Chairman Tang Hanghao and a delegation from the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Congress, reaffirming the sister-city relationship between the two cities.
Discussions at the Assembly focused on deepening cooperation through legislative and oversight best practices. Speaker Khatri proposed a strategic framework to guide future collaboration, highlighting three key pillars:
• Legislative staff exchange programs
• Joint research initiatives on climate resilience and digital inclusion
• Co-hosted policy forums for mutual learning
Tang Hanghao’s delegation is on an official visit to Mombasa. Earlier, they held talks with Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir, centering on strengthening port-to-port collaboration and enhancing trade and commercial relations.
Both cities reaffirmed their shared vision of prosperity and mutual growth.
