BetPawa hands over FKF Women’s Cup trophy, ushers in new era for women’s football in Kenya

BetPawa has officially handed over the FKF Women’s Cup Trophy to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), setting the stage for a highly anticipated final slated for June 29, 2025, at Africa Stadium in Nakuru.

The handover ceremony, held at betPawa’s offices in Nairobi, marked a major milestone in the tournament and highlighted the brand’s strong commitment to empowering women’s football in Kenya through sustainable partnerships and performance-based rewards.

One of the standout features of this year’s competition is the Locker Room Bonus (LRB) initiative by betPawa, which has seen an injection of sh.4.3 million into direct cash bonuses for players and technical staff. The initiative aims to reward hard work, enhance professionalism, and inspire higher levels of performance throughout the tournament.

“Our aim is to create meaningful opportunities in football by recognizing talent and rewarding performance. The Locker Room Bonus is not just about money—it’s about dignity, motivation, and showing players that their effort matters,” said Raquel Piug, Head of CSR & Sports Development at betPawa.

FKF CEO Harold Ndege welcomed the trophy and praised the growing partnership with betPawa, saying the collaboration is transforming the landscape of women’s football in Kenya.

“We welcome this trophy with pride and purpose. This partnership with betPawa is not only elevating the game technically but inspiring a whole new generation of players. Together, we are setting the standard for what women’s football should look like in this country,” Ndege said.

With the finals fast approaching, fans and stakeholders alike are looking forward to a historic showdown on the pitch, one that reflects the growing investment, talent, and passion fueling the rise of women’s football in Kenya.
