Two men arrested in Mombasa for defiling a 12-year-old orphan

Two men have been arrested in Mombasa for defiling a 12-year-old orphan.

First suspect, Anthony Jakaa Muganda, was arrested by the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit in Mombasa for defiling the minor before fleeing to Kisii.

“On what should have been an ordinary morning, a 12-year-old orphan stood at a bus stop, waiting to board a vehicle to school, an innocent child simply trying to navigate her young life. Then came Muganda, masquerading as a Good Samaritan, offering her a ride under the guise of kindness,” wrote the DCI on their socials.

Muganda, however, is said to have diverted from the path to the minor’s school and taken her to his home where he committed the heinous act.

“He then threatened her, ensuring her silence, dropping her back at the bus stop, in her school uniform as if nothing had happened,” said the DCI.

The second suspect, Reginald Wamalwa, is said to have found the confused and distressed minor and also defiled her.

“Instead of offering true refuge, he seized the opportunity to exploit her fragile state. He took her to his house and indecently assaulted her, deepening the trauma she had already endured,” said the DCI.

“He then escorted her to the police station, pretending to report the first child predator (Muganda), only for the girl to bravely disclose that he, too, had violated her,” added the Directorate.

Wamalwa was immediately arrested on the spot and arraigned before the Shanzu Law Courts.

“A manhunt for Muganda was launched. Fueled by the sheer horror of what had transpired, AHTCPU detectives pursued him tirelessly. Through forensic leads, they trailed him to his hideout in Nyanchwa, Kisii town, where he was finally cornered and arrested,” said the DCI.

Muganda was escorted back to Mombasa, where he was processed and arraigned before the Shanzu Law Courts on Monday.
