Ruling party United Democratic Alliance Party on Saturday carried out repeat grassroots elections in Mombasa and Tana River Counties.
The smooth exercises were overseen by National Elections Board member Jimmy Kahindi in Tana River and Mary Mutinga and Halake Dida in Mombasa.

Kahindi was overseeing the repeat polls in Garsen, Bura, and Galole constituencies while Mutinga and Dida were supervising the same in parts of Changamwe and Mvita Constituencies.

In Mombasa County, the repeat polls were held in Bomu Secondary School in Port Reitz, Buxton Estate Hall in Tononoka, Koblenz Hall in Majengo, Serani Primary School Mji wa Kale /Makadara and Kenya School of Government in Mji wa Kale/Makadara within Mombasa Island.
UDA National Elections Board announced repeat grassroots elections in Mombasa and Tana River four days ago.
UDA, under President William Ruto’s administration, views the grassroots elections as a crucial step in strengthening internal democracy and reinforcing the party’s structures ahead of future national and regional political engagements.
The National Elections Board has reiterated its commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections, urging all party members to maintain peace and uphold democratic principles.
