Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Season for the fourth time, equaling the record held by fellow Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Fernandes has cemented his place in the club’s history as the third player to win the award on four occasions. Goalkeeper David De Gea was the first to achieve the feat, winning it five times between 2014 and 2018.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who had two spells at Manchester United, won the award in 2004, 2007, and 2008 before his return to Old Trafford in 2022.
Ivorian winger Amad Diallo finished second in this season’s voting, while defender Harry Maguire came third after a standout second half of the campaign with the Red Devils.
Fernandes, 30, had an impressive season, scoring 19 goals and providing 19 assists in 54 appearances across all competitions.
The United captain is set to lead the team in next week’s Europa League final against Tottenham in Spain, where he hopes to end a disappointing league season on a high note with European silverware.
