Trent Alexander-Arnold to join Real Madrid on a five-year contract

England full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has reached a verbal agreement with Spanish giants Real Madrid to join the club at the end of the current season.

The 26-year-old defender recently announced that he will leave his boyhood club Liverpool when his contract expires this summer, ending a 20-year association with the Reds.

While Alexander-Arnold has yet to sign the paperwork with Los Blancos officially, it is understood that the move will be finalized before the start of the FIFA Club World Cup in June.

During his time with Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold made 352 appearances for the first team, winning two Premier League titles, a UEFA Champions League trophy, and a FIFA Club World Cup.

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Alexander-Arnold said that while there was a possibility of remaining at the club, he felt it was time for a new challenge in his career.
