Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) nominee Geoffrey Ruku has declared his net worth to be sh.377 million.

Appearing before Parliament at the Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Monday, Ruku said his wealth is spread across savings, property, and shares.

“Land and buildings are worth about sh.40 million; family residence, sh.60 million; Sacco and savings, sh.50 million; company shares, sh.250 million; and motor vehicles, sh.12 million,” he stated.

Ruku said that if approved, he would promote fairness and transparency in public service.

He pledged to support equality and inclusivity, especially by advocating for minority groups, such as persons living with disabilities.

He also emphasized that he would not tolerate corruption in public service. “I will serve without fear or favour, address unemployment issues, and create job opportunities without nepotism,” the CS nominee said.

Ruku is best known for sponsoring the controversial Assembly and Demonstration Bill 2024, which aimed to regulate the conduct of public assemblies and demonstrations and outline prohibited actions during such events.

He is a staunch ally of President William Ruto and was nominated to the Cabinet on March 26, following the dismissal of Justin Muturi.
