Kaloleni Constituency Member of Parliament Paul Katana has decried discrimination of Kilifi youths in government recruitment exercises.
The MP said most of the youths miss recruitment opportunities in both military and police services despite participating in various exercises.
“Kilifi county is normally left out. We are always told that the chances are for those from upcountry,” said the MP.
He asked the government to ensure that local leaders, including members of parliament, are also involved in the recruitment
The MP further urged the government to promote chiefs and their assistants in the area.
“I co-operate so well with my chiefs and assistant chiefs. Some of them have degrees. They are very hardworking,” he said.
