The Mombasa County Department of Lands and Physical Planning will work 24 hours a day to ensure that the demolition site of the 11-storey building in Corner ya Kilifi area is cleared.
This is according to Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir.
The efforts to clear the site is not only for the resumption of normal business operations in the area but also to find the body of a man who is said to have gone inside the building before it first collapsed.

“CCTV footage confirmed a man entered the building before it first went down. The guard who let him in will be questioned to direct us on which direction the he went. The Lands department will clear the area where he went missing within 36 hours,” said Governor Nassir.
Meanwhile, patients who were transferred from Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital (CGTRH) will be transferred back to the hospital on Friday after the hospital has been cleaned and disinfected.
The County Government will also be taking legal action against officers and entities found culpable in the construction of the condemned 11-storey building.
