Residents of Rabai in Kilifi County have been urged to plant more trees in an effort to conserve the environment.

The appeal was made by Jimba Archdeacon Douglas Ojwang, who said the move aligns with the government’s initiative to plant 15 billion trees by 2032.

“The government has been emphasizing the importance of planting more trees. This will help us conserve our environment,” he said.

Meanwhile, Rabai Member of Parliament Kenga Mupe praised the local administration for its collaboration with both community leaders and residents.

Mupe noted that the partnership has contributed to ongoing development in the area.

He said the MP’s office will continue to work closely with residents to ensure continued progress.

“Our office is open to any development agenda. Through the NGCDF, we will ensure that educational infrastructure is improved,” said Mupe.

The outspoken lawmaker also expressed concern over what he described as the misuse of some school facilities.

“There has been misuse of many school infrastructures. Some teachers have raised concerns about littering and other issues affecting these facilities,” he said.

The two leaders were speaking in Rabai Sub-County, Kilifi County, on Monday.
