KPA donates food ahead of Eid

The Kenya Ports Authority has donated food worth sh.4.6 million ahead of Eid al-Fitr.

Speaking at the headquarters during the flagging off ceremony, KPA Managing Director Captain William Ruto said the food donations are meant to support needy Muslim families observing the holy month of Ramadan.

“This donation is for the needy community and mosques around KPA. We are giving this today, and tomorrow (Wednesday), we will be doing the same in Lamu County,” said Capt. William Ruto.

Capt. Ruto emphasized that the donation underscored the Authority’s dedication to giving back to society, highlighting the importance of standing in solidarity with the Muslim community during Ramadan.

“Ramadhan is the month of giving. We should remember those in need during this holy month,” said the MD.

Receiving the donation on behalf of other organizations, Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM), Sheikh Muhdhar Khitamy, expressed profound appreciation for the Authority’s generosity towards Muslim families.

“We are at the peak of the holy month. Let us remember to help people with disabilities, widows, orphans, and any other needy person,” said Sheikh Khitamy.

The donation consisted of wheat flour, beans, sugar, cooking oil and other foodstuffs.
