The Football Kenya Federation has appointed Coach Francis Kimanzi as the Football Development Director.

FKF confirmed the appointment of interim coach Francis Kimanzi to the position of Football Development Director on Thursday.

His appointment comes days after stepping down as the interim coach of Harambee Stars as Bennie McCarthy took over to lead the stars in national soccer duties.

“Mr. Kimanzi, a highly experienced coach with an extensive background in Kenyan football, steps into this role as the federation seeks to strengthen its structures, nurture local talent, and foster sustainable growth within the sport,” read a press statement from the Federation.

Before his appointment, Kimanzi was very much involved in the national team selection and call up for the upcoming World cup qualifiers fixtures against Gambia and Gabon.

“We are confident that Mr. Kimanzi’s leadership and expertise will play a pivotal role in advancing our development agenda and shaping the future of Kenyan football,” said FKF Secretary General and CEO Harold Ndege.
