The Clinical workers downed their tools on the 5th of March 2025 demanding the government to implement the Return-To-Work Formula (RTWF) they signed in 2024.

“I thank all clinical officers who have willingly resolved to resume duty with
immediate effect and urge them to continue working towards building a resilient, patient-centered healthcare system that guarantees quality and affordable care for all Kenyans,” said Health CS Deborah Barasa.

The Officers also demanded that Clinical Interns be posted and the absorption of Universal Healthcare Staff.

Other demands were issues to do with the Social Health Authority (SHA).

“As we advance Universal Health Coverage under Taifa Care, constructive engagement remains key to strengthening our health system. We appreciate the dedication of clinical officers and urge them to resume duty as we work towards lasting solutions,” Dr. Barasa stated.

The Council of Governors, led by Chairman Governor Ahmed Abdullahi, also reiterated the importance of collaboration in improving healthcare delivery.

The signing of the agreement was undertaken by Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, and Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Harry Kimtai, among other officials.
