Kenya national men’s football team is set to start new chapter under South African outfit Benni McCarthy as their head coach.
Former Manchester United Assistant Coach during Ten Hag’s tenure at Old Trafford was appointed by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) December 20th last year but the federation delayed his unveiling due to delayed salary payments from the former harambee stars coach Engin Firat.
His unveiling as the head coach is scheduled for Monday 3rd March where he’ll be joined by Vasili Manousakis as his assistant and former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs taking the role of goalkeeping coach. The second assistant believed to be a Kenyan, yet to be appointed will replace interim coach Francis Kimanzi.
McCarthy’s first assignment is the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Gambia on 20th March and the second leg on 23rd March at home ground.
