Malindi MP asks for more police vehicles to curb insecurity

Malindi member of Parliament Amina Mnyazi wants national government to increase police vehicles in Malindi to ease police movements and curb insecurity in the area.

According to Mnyazi, Malindi has eight police station and only one vehicle. This, she says, hinders efforts to fight insecurity in the area.

“If we do not help our police officers with other vehicles insecurity cases will increase,we need at least eight police vehicles in Malindi Constituency,” she said.

The member of parliament also said there was need for the county government to initiate street light projects in Malindi in a bid to fight insecurities cases and improve tourism sector.

“Malindi tourism industry has been prone to volatility over the past months, stemming from ongoing issues relating to security and stability,” she said.
