Savara breaks barriers with new song

Kenyan music sensation Savara has released a new song that has captured the attention of many, especially with the inclusion of a plus-size video vixen.

Released on February 24, 2025, ‘Sianda’ features Bettina Wambui, who beautifully syncs and dances to the beat of the song, making it a must-watch video.

Bettina, a plus-size model, fashionista, and lifestyle enthusiast, expressed her excitement about being part of the project, calling it a statement of faith, perseverance, and the power of believing in oneself.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, she wrote:
“I still remember the days I doubted myself, the moments I questioned whether my dreams were valid or if my voice would ever be heard. This isn’t just about the late nights of self-doubt, the battles I fought within myself, and the prayers I whispered asking God to make a way – and He did.

In her post, Bettina also thanked Savara for trusting her:
You saw me before I could see myself. You believed in me from the beginning when I struggled to believe in myself. Through every challenge and every hesitation, you stood by me, reminding me of my worth and speaking words of encouragement, kindness, and love.

Savara, also known as Delvin Mudigi, shared his thoughts on his social media platforms, saying: “Your positive reactions to my latest piece of work, Sianda, have been nothing short of amazing. Isn’t she (Bettina) so sassy?

Since its release, ‘Sianda’ has garnered 180k views on YouTube, incorporating traditional sounds and visual elements.

Savara, who was previously part of the Sauti Soul group, has enjoyed success as a solo artist, with hits like ‘Show You Off’, ‘Balance’, and ‘Life On The Road’ featuring Harmonize.

With the rise of social media, fields such as fashion, modeling, and dance have undergone significant changes. A study by the University of Boston revealed that more plus-size models are making an impact across various platforms, including fashion events like London and Paris Fashion Week, signaling a shift in the industry.

Other artists who have included plus-size models in their music videos include American rapper and singer Lizzo, with songs like ‘About Damn Time’ and ‘Rumors’ featuring Cardi B.
