Kanjaocha residents petition gov’t to put up a police station to curb insecurity

The government through the interior ministry has been urged to put up a police station at Kanjaocha village, Samburu Ward in Kwale county.

The appeal has been lodged by Kanjaocha residents led by Benson Jefwa.

“Kanjaocha village has experienced a rise in cases of insecurity. It is high time the government puts up a police station,’’ the locals noted.

According to Jefwa, the move will ensure that cases of insecurity are dealt with.

Jefwa also lamented over what he said is the lack of a police station in the area.

He noted, “The nearest police station, Silaloni is about fifteen kilometres from Kanjaocha village.”

The Kanjaocha resident further noted that victims are forced to walk for longer distances to report cases of insecurity.
