Residents of Rabai in Kilifi County have expressed frustration over the lack of clean water for domestic use due to inadequate supply.
Speaking to Baraka FM, William Katama accused water suppliers of being inconsistent, which has disrupted various activities in the area.
“We have been waiting here for more than four hours to get water, and our hopes are fading,” Katama said.
He added that the ongoing water shortage is affecting other daily activities, including education.
According to Katama, many students fail to report to school on time due to the lack of water. He described the water crisis as a chronic issue that requires urgent intervention.
Similarly, Mnyazi Karisa noted that many school children end up doing household chores to assist their parents, who often spend long hours searching for water.
“This has disrupted children’s school routines,” Mnyazi said. “We spend too much time at the water point, and sometimes we go home without water.”
The residents also accused local leaders of failing to take action to resolve the issue.
